These terms govern your use of Pixly. By accessing our website or using our tools, you agree to these terms. We've kept them as clear and readable as possible.

By accessing or using Pixly (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Pixly ("we", "us", or "our").

If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Pixly is a browser-based image processing platform that provides tools for background removal, image upscaling, compression, format conversion, batch processing, and other image editing operations. All image processing occurs locally in your browser — images are not uploaded to or processed on our servers.

The Service is offered completely free of charge. All tools — including AI-powered tools, batch processing, and all features — are available to all users at no cost.

Pixly is 100% free to use. All tools and features are available to everyone:

  • Unlimited use of all tools (format converter, compressor, resizer, AI tools, etc.)
  • No daily limits or usage caps
  • No account or sign-up required
  • No watermarks on output images

We reserve the right to modify the features and availability of the Service at any time without prior notice.

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law
  • Process images that you do not have the right to use or modify
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract our client-side code or ML models for use outside of Pixly
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service in a way that exceeds normal usage patterns
  • Use the Service to create, process, or distribute content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, or infringes on others' rights
  • Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written permission

Your images: You retain full ownership of all images you process with Pixly. Since images are processed locally and never uploaded, we have no access to, claim on, or rights to your images. The processed output is yours to use for any purpose.

Pixly software: The Pixly website, branding, code, ML models, and user interface are our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Pixly software without our written permission.

Open source: Certain components of Pixly are open source and licensed under their respective licenses. See our GitHub repository for details.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

  • The Service will be available at all times without interruption
  • Image processing results will be accurate, error-free, or meet your expectations
  • The Service will be free of bugs, vulnerabilities, or other technical issues
  • Your browser will support all features or ML models used by Pixly

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pixly shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed $50.

You may stop using Pixly at any time. No account is required and no cancellation is needed.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms. We may also discontinue or modify the Service at any time.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the Netherlands, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Amsterdam, Netherlands.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you via email (if you have an account) and post a prominent notice on our website at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
